Chris Bangle begins work with Changan Automobile on its design strategy and methodology

Chris Bangle is to consult with Changan Automobile to help develop its design strategy and processes in his first official automotive project since leaving BMW in 2009. Bangle – through his company Chris Bangle Associates (CBA) – will work with Changan's team in its European design center in Turin, Italy, reporting to design director Chen Zheng. And while his role will be linked to the brand's Chinese products, his focus will be on the design team's methodologies and philosophy; its management and its process of critique, rather than the hands-on design of its products.

Carr Magazine, the insider publication for the car design community, is reaching out via its Kickstarter campaign to fund its fifth issue. Carr has always prided itself on ad-free pages and continual focus on the future of car design but to do this needs some help from its readers as the team looks to improve its circulation and bolster content. 1993 Jaguar XJ220 heads for Scottsdale auction

Come Jan. 19-23, 2011, a 1993 Jaguar XJ220 will be available at the Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. Produced by Jaguar in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing from1992 to 1994, the XJ220 can achieve 217 mph and run from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
